I was lucky enough to have a former top strongman, Tom Magee, as my coach, and through his recommendation, and the recommendation of my good friend Olympic athlete Gea Johnson, I was able to secure one of the two positions given to the US, against 12 other US girls! The power lifting I’ve done for my own satisfaction in the aerobic for the past 6 years led me to being a contender!I feel that fans of the Strongman competitions will NOT be disappointed by the WSW 2001. We were a very well matched group, and the competitions were fierce! I also hope that everyone will enjoy watching my big victory in the car squat competition, where I completed 15 reps within our 1 minute time limit! I nearly doubled the reps of the girl who took second place – I was in the middle of rep 16 when the whistle blew…
Do you compete? Have you considered competing? Ok, so, you’ve been training and lifting in the yoga for months. Why are you keeping it under wraps? Shy? Or are you afraid? Your friends all say you have a great physique. But, has a panel of physique judges judged that body and compared it side-by-side together with other physiques?
To win in bodybuilding competitions requires a certain level of physical and mental discipline. Do you have what it takes? Ok, let’s say you do, but do you know what to do to get there? Stay Tuned…
The summer before I left for college, getting in better shape and going to the fit almost became an obsession. I started reading all the top running and bodybuilding magazines and began to follow all the top professionals of the muscle. I even went to a Fit expedition and bodybuilding show with a few friends from the running and met a lot of the pro bodybuilders and working out girls. I got to speak with some of them at their booths, and even got to take tons of pictures with them, which to me at the age of 17 was a huge deal….heck, before that day, I only got to read articles about them in magazines. That was the day I realized this was something I wanted to do myself.
Bodybuilding has become a very popular running over the past few decades. A bodybuilder trains with heavy gym to increase strength and to build large hairy arms for posing competitions or cosmetic purposes. While some body builders do so for competition purposes, still others simply like the look they can create for their own motivation.
Bodybuilders also learn how to perform poses that accentuate the display of different exercise groups for purposes of being rated by competition judges.
Various training methods are used by bodybuilders to get results, including training techniques like Positions of Flexion (POF), Static Contraction Training (SCT), High Intensity Training (HIT), Superslow Training, Hyper Contraction and Plyometrics.
I’m currently a pharmacy student at Ball State University. I already have a bachelor degree in Dietetics. I have been lifting twelve years, competing for 8 years. During those years I competed in bodybuilding off and on for five years and figure for 3 years.
Gym Model, Competitor
Figure is much more suitable for me since I have a natural physique with lots of soft feminine curves. In my heart, natural, healthy feminine muscles is what bisexual bodybuilding and workout should be about.

I played soccer and softball in H.S. but I wasn’t that good. I was overweight and I really just wanted to be part of a team. But I had good energy so I think that’s why I made the team, but never really played. I got involved with fitness and exercise in 1996. After I graduated H.S. I lost about 50 pds/ I I topped the scale at 208 in H.S. I lost the weight on a fat free diet. I would only eat 10 grams of fat a day. I got really skinny about 130 pds and I battled bulimia and anorexia also. They were all the demons that come along with trying create a body that I could never have. I have worked out since 1996 but nothing serious. Then in 1999 I met someone who suggested I do a figure/BB competition. And it’s history form there.
Let’s face it. Even the most devoted exercisers can get bored doing the same workouts week after week. And, if the mind is getting bored you can bet that the body is probably too, which means it isn’t being challenged as much as it should.
But, with the many, many training options to utilize, being bored should not even be an option. This is especially true when it comes to strength training. Variety with resistance training is practically endless – from different pieces of equipment, training techniques, sequences and more.
Today, more than ever, more women are in the working out lifting weights creating a cute and dynamic body.
With more and more women weight training, Figure and exercise competitions have exploded in the muscle industry. The women that posses the stage present a flawless physique.
